David Datro Fofana leaves Chelsea for new club (See The New Club)
Union Berlin has secured the loan signing of David Datro Fofana from Chelsea for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Fofana, a talented 20-year-old striker, initially joined Chelsea from Molde in January. However, his playing time was limited, as he only managed to make four appearances for the club. Expressing his enthusiasm about the acquisition, Oliver Ruhnert, Union Berlin’s director of football, highlighted Fofana’s exceptional speed and versatile attacking abilities, which greatly appeal to the team.
“We want another dangerous player who will give our attacking game additional impetus.”
In a wave of departures from Chelsea this summer, the French attacker joins a number of players leaving the club.
Chelsea, based in west London, have made significant changes to their squad during the summer transfer window. The club has opened the doors of Stamford Bridge wide, allowing several players, including N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and others, to explore new opportunities elsewhere.
