Peter Obi expresses his displeasure with Nigeria embracing grain donation from Ukraine, Governor Bago supports him
Former Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi expressed his dissatisfaction with Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership, a move that has so far prompted comments from worried citizens. Peter Obi voiced his dissatisfaction at the motive spreading that the Nigerian government accepted tons of wheat donation from Ukraine during their recent meeting, where Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, appeared as one of the hosts.
In his words, he expresses his disappointment that Nigeria has advanced to the point where it is willing to take donations of its natural riches instead of using its own resources.
Additionally, he denied that he was overly worried about the situation given that the nation is still at war and can still provide wheat to Nigeria.
He read out the numbers that infuriated the already incensed civilians.
The Nigerian economy has been in serious danger of going into recession since Bola Tinubu gained office, which has had an impact on the general populace.
In the alternate segment, All Progressive Congress governor of Zamfara State Mohammed Umar Bago stood behind Peter Obi and said it was a tragedy for Nigeria to take the 25,000 tons of wheat from the war-torn country of Ukraine.
He continued to express his dissatisfaction by stating that while Peter may not be loved, what he said is a harsh reality.
He said that before it reaches the breaking points, Nigerians should begin providing for themselves.
His quote:
“My boss, you are very right on what you’ve said. We have no reason to be poor. People may not like you, but they must hear you. What you say is the gospel truth.”
“It is time we tell ourselves the basic truth. We need to feed ourselves. It is a shame for people like Ukraine in war to be giving us food.”
“Nigeria needs to be productive. You cannot be out of poverty unless you start to produce. I’m not an advocate of handouts and palliative. I don’t believe in it.”
