Fans Instigate Fight Between Me and Other Female Artists – Tiwa Savage

She claimed that her admirers frequently set her up against all up-and-coming female musicians, implying that they are vying for her "throne."

The "Water & Garri" actress declared that, since she doesn't think music is a competition, she would make an effort to become friends with the up-and-coming female musicians.

Savage addressed this in a recent BET interview.

She said, “Fans always try to pit me against other female artists. Any new female artist that comes up, they would be like, ‘Yo, she is coming to take her throne.’

“And I would go out of my way to make friends with them [new female artists] because it is not a competition. The real competition are the male artists.

I was happy that Tyla, a female artists won the maiden Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys over the male nominees.”
