Davido Adeleke, a well-known Afrobeat musician, tells the story of how, as a child, he was able to land an excellent endorsement deal with one of Nigeria's biggest telecoms companies.
In a recent interview, the singer made this revelation, stating that MTN was a brand-new telecom operator in Nigeria at the time.
Davido asserts that he was 17 at the time and had recorded two well-known songs, putting him in the target market for the product.
The rapper revealed that MTN had once made him an endorsement offer for N20 million. He has just released his fourth studio album.
With the money from the deal, he was able to write more songs, which helped his first album's release.
