I will Miss The Old National Anthem - Teni Laments

President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, bringing back the traditional anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee."

Teni responded by stating that she would miss the new National Anthem, "Arise, O Compatriots."

She mentioned how the old song brought back a lot of her early memories.

Teni posted this on her X handle: "Arise o compatriots, I’ll miss you, Thank you for so many childhood memories. till we meet again, love SM.”

Nigeria's national anthem, "Arise, O compatriots," was adopted in 1978.

John A. Ilechukwu, Eme Etim Akpan, B. A. Ogunnaike, Sota Omoigui, and P. O. Aderibigbe wrote the lyrics.

Under the direction of B. E. Odiasse, the Nigeria Police Band played the national anthem.

The ancient anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee," has officially taken the place of "Arise, O compatriots" as Nigeria's national anthem, according to the National Anthem Bill 2024, which President Tinubu recently signed into law.
