Ministerial screening: I never slept outside Rivers in four years as governor- Wike

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, on Monday appeared before the Senate for the confirmation hearing of his nomination as a minister by President Bola Tinubu. Wike said he had never left his state as Rivers Governor, saying he is prepared and committed to work. ” I changed the landscape of Rivers State. And I can say it, then as a governor, in my second term, in four years as a governor, I never left my state. I never slept outside my state,” Wike said. The confirmation hearing followed a motion by the Senate Leader, Senator Dave Umahi. Wike’s name was among the 28-miniterial noninees sent to the Senate last week by Tinubu for screening.
