Mohbad's Father Gets Court Permission For Liam's DNA
An important case involving Wunmi, the late singer Mohbad's wife, was decided at the Magistrate Court in the center of Lagos' Ikorodu district. The court decided that she had to be notified in another method that there will be a DNA test application. This major development occurred on Wednesday, April 17, and was stated in a statement written by Monisola Odumosu, a vital member of the Aloba family's legal team.
Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, requested permission to serve Wunmi by posting all relevant court documents, including the lawsuit's genesis and related files, at her last-known address in an application sent to the family. The statement went on to clarify that the attorneys for Emmanuel Oroko contended that the sheriff had made two futile attempts to give Wunmi court documents.
As the case got worse, Odumosu emphasized,
"If the process were served on the last-known address of the respondent by order of the Court, it would constitute good service and she would be aware of the pending suit.
The Chief Magistrate granted the order and ordered that the respondent be served by posting the court process on her last known address.
It will be recalled that the Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court wherein it sought an order of the court against Wunmi to present herself and baby Liam for a DNA test at any recognised laboratory in Lagos."
This legal wrangling has its background in the Aloba family's dispute about infant Liam's paternity. They started the legal process by submitting an application to the Family Court, asking for an order requiring Wunmi to appear for a DNA test at any respectable laboratory in Lagos, together with baby Liam. This crucial action highlights how serious the problem is and lays the groundwork for a possible scientific remedy.
