New Revelations Emerges as Mohbad’s DNA Court Battle Heats Up

This choice was taken following a disastrous failure of settlement negotiations between the respondent, Mohbad's wife Wunmi, and the Aloba family.

The family's attorney, Monisola Odumosu, revealed in a statement obtained by PUNCH Online that the court urged both parties to look into other dispute resolutions by July 9, 2024. These private discussions, meanwhile, were unable to reach a consensus.

Odumosu fueled the already fierce argument over the matter by blaming "external factors" for the negotiation process's derailment.

The statement said, in part:

“Emmanuel Oroko of Hillceetee Partners, representing Joseph Aloba, informed the court that despite earnest efforts, the settlement talks broke down due to external factors. M.K.O Orire Esq., representing the respondent, confirmed the breakdown in negotiations during the resumed hearing

“In response to petitions from both legal teams, the presiding Magistrate, His Honour Mrs A.B Olagbegi-Adelabu adjourned the suit to allow for the hearing of all pending applications related to the DNA test. The court urged the parties to continue exploring settlement options before the next hearing date,” it

The Aloba family's legal eagles caused a stir earlier this year when they applied for a DNA test after a flurry of social media rumors regarding the child born to the late singer's wife.

The family, unfazed by the controversy, insisted on the test, using the murky circumstances surrounding Mohbad's tragic death as a rallying cry.

Monisola Odumosu, the family's attorney, firmly denied any unapproved remarks made without permission from their legal team and made it clear that no official spokesperson had been named in a strongly worded statement.

Mohbad's unexpected death on September 12, 2023, at the young age of 27, has sparked a great deal of controversy on social media, with rumors and discussions on the events leading up to his untimely demise circulating.
