Nigerian Artists Don't Create Meaningful Music - Ajebo Huslters
Nigerian musicians have been challenged to learn how to create "great music with depth" by the well-known musical duo Ajebo Hustlers. The two claimed that certain Nigerian musicians lacked perspective and suggested that they take a cue from Omah Lay. Ajebo Hustlers posted on their X handle:
“Y’all need to learn how to make great music with depth!! Learn from Omah Lay!! Ask yourself..what will Omah lay say if he hopped on this record!!! Cause y’all lack perspective!! Y’all absolutely lack what to talk about and that sh!t boring as hell!!”
They did accept, though, that some gifted musicians are "dumbing down" their originality in order to win over followers who enjoy mediocrity.
“Real artistes are trying to dumb down to gain relevance!!! Cause Na mediocrity una love,” they wrote.
