He entered a guilty plea during the first phase of his trial, but multiple sources claim that he was unable to get his charges dropped.

He entered guilty pleas to all of the counts brought against him by the EFCC, and on April 5, 2024, a Federal High Court in Lagos found him guilty.

Bob Risky was accused of six counts of crucial money misuse and found guilty on all of them. On April 5, 2024, he entered a guilty plea to two counts of money laundering and four counts of money mutilation.

Despite his pleas for a pardon and declaration that he was ignorant of the rules pertaining to Naira Abuse, he was denied bail and found guilty. He also promised to inform his fans about the matter.

“I am a social media influencer with over five million followers. I would do a video on my page and I would educate people about spraying money. I will not repeat it again, My Lord. I regret my actions, My Lord. I am a first-time offender” – he pleaded.

The court decided not to show mercy and extended his sentence until April 9, 2024. In addition to imposing the punishment, Abimbola Awogboro mandated that he be detained in the custody of the EFCC until that time.

Prior to this, on March 24, 2024, at the FilmOne Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, for the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film “Ajakaju,” Bob Risky was detained after the EFCC invited him to respond to a rumored viral video in which he was seen misusing money by splattering fresh Naira notes.

His detention also prompted the EFCC to issue a public statement outlining all the details of the imprisonment thus far.

In the meantime, Ayo Olumofin, Bob Risky’s lawyer, expressed in unambiguous terms that he is in favor of the court delaying his client’s punishment because the Nigerian transvestite is a first-time offender.

He explained that he was powerless to overturn the court’s judgment about the adjournment.

He was seen pleading with the court to take Bob Risky’s first-time status into consideration in a video that has gone viral.
