She was furious with the musician for releasing a new album called "Evergreen" in the middle of Nigeria's #EndBadGovernance demonstrations.

Ruth took to X and compared Jaywon's behavior to that of Tems, a female musician, who decided to postpone the release of her music video in response to the commencement of the rallies.

She threatened to fire the "This Year" singer if he didn't remove his album from all streaming platforms within the next 24 hours. She wrote:

“Due to #EndBadGovernaceInNigeria, Tems canceled dropping her video na Jaywon get mind drop Evergreen album because e no send us or what ? Jaywon has 24hours to remove the album on all platforms or we cancel him.”
