Lagos Police spokesman slams singer, Ayo Maff over ‘indecent’ lyrics
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Command, has blasted rising artist Ayo Maff for "indecent" lyrics in his latest song, 'Last Week.'
In the first lyric, the singer boasted about taking Canadian Loud, an imported strong synthetic strain of cannabis, on the first day of the week and informing his dealer that he had ran out of the material by Saturday.
In response to a viral sample of the song on X, SP Hundeyin voiced concern about the lyrics.
He asserted that half of the adolescents in prison would not be there if they had not engaged in drug use.
He remarked that illicit drugs are a forerunner to criminality.
The PPRO wrote: "
“He does what on Mondays and Saturdays? Help me listen.
“Like Asa said, there is fire on the mountain and nobody seems to be on the run…
“Fact: Half of the young ones in prison today wouldn’t be there if they didn’t do drugs. Drugs is a precursor to everything bad.
“Eni a wi fun…”
