Music Icon Femi Esho dies at 77
After a brief illness, Chief Femi Esho, the Chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, passed away at the age of 77.
On Monday, the family announced his passing.
Esho was a prominent person in the Nigerian music scene, sometimes referred to as Baba Esho or Baba Musician.
He founded the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation as well.
Baba Esho was a mentor to many in the Highlife music industry and was instrumental in keeping Nigerian music styles alive and well, including Afrobeat, Juju, Sakara, Apala, and Highlife. He passed away in 2004.
His family will shortly make an announcement on the burial plans.
