Sarkodie Addresses Alleged Beef With Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy (See what he said)
Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has denied having a feud with Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, three superstars of the Afrobeats genre in Nigeria.
Recall that in his most recent song, "Brag," Sarkodie boasted that he was in the music business before Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid. This claim caused controversy.
Conflict subsequently arose between Lyrical Joe, a signee of Sarkodie, and Dremo, a former Davido signee, who have been dropping fresh diss singles every day.
Sarkodie has now spoken out on the matter. The "Azonto" crooner clarified in an interview with RODE that the purpose of his song's references to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy was to highlight his longevity in the music business.
He went on to say that rappers, not singers, would have been his target if he had wanted to take shots.
In his words,
“Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido would never think I want to jab them because if I want to jab somebody, it has to be rappers. They are not rappers.
“I am just talking to rappers about how long I’ve been there and who else is best to use as reverence? Everybody knows Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Sheriff, Asake and Davido. And it’s true that I was in the industry before they all came in. It’s just references of how long I’ve been there. It’s not throwing jabs at anybody. These are incredible, amazing artists.”
