Breaking: FG Grants Nnamdi Kanu Permission To Create Biafra
According to several posts on the well-known social networking site Facebook, the Bola Tinubu government approved of the separation of Nigeria’s southeast states. The claim surfaced amidst persistent calls for the creation of a new nation by certain Nigerians, both domestically and internationally. The intended nation is now known as “Biafra.”
One post read: “Tinubu asks Biafra to go for peace to reign: The heat of Biafra hits presidency so hard that as a matter of urgency speaks on Biafra freedom.”
It also contains a snapshot of an article claiming credit for the media platform, The Punch, a Nigerian newspaper, with its logo on it.
The screenshot’s caption reads: “Presidency speaks on Biafra, we can’t give out south-south. If the 5 south-eastern states want to go, they are free.”
The platform said that if this development were real, it would have garnered national and worldwide media attention after releasing its findings. In response, they said, “But we found no report of it.”
It was decided that there was no proof the government agreed to the secession of the states in the southeast.
