EFCC accused of destroying some ladies backsides with serious beating during Ondo club raid

On June 8, 2024, the operation resulted in the confiscation of several items, including phones, laptops, and cars.

News reporters were told by an eyewitness at one of the raided nightclubs, "They entered the nightclubs and lounges, beating up people, using tear gas on them, and taking them into custody." They didn't care who you were; inside one of the clubs, they fired tear gas canisters, injuring numerous individuals, including security officers.

"They also left with a groom and his friends at a club; he was there for his bachelor party. It was very depressing to see everyone painted in the same light as online scammers."

A video of the raid was posted by X user Darey, who tweets under the handle #dareybold. The caption reads, "This is the #officialEFCC leaving Shaunz lounge Akure while shooting sporadically."

"They demolished the hotel rooms as well as the club. They entered the rooms with force. They also demolished the engine and the CCTV.

Oluyemi Fasipe, a different X User on X.com who goes by the handle #YemiFash, tweeted, "This is what your rogue officers did to innocent ladies at a club in Akure last night," along with a video allegedly depicting the dehumanization of women in an Akure club. Following this dehumanization, they confiscated their phones as well. In order to demonstrate to the public how careless and unprofessional your agency can be, I am sharing this.

In a Saturday update, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission claimed that the suspects were present at an event concerning online fraud.
